1. WHY START TO BLOG/ WHY CONTINUE?

2. HOW HEALIGAN DOES IT

STUDYWIZ JOURNALS: private, easy to read and assess, easy to implement

Blogger: easy, free, my first blog (fio and Wilm U), can stay ad free

Wordpress-cadillac compared to Blogger’s prius. REMARK

Tumblr: blogging of choice for teens. Very 21st c—graphics first then text, not as useful for school, blocked, no security

Twitter: microblogging. Great way to commune with kids, simple writing lessons, collaboration. Off limits now. Sad

Edublogs: Wordpress, free, great free online lessons. For teachers. Safe

Edmodo: diocese using. Social platform for teaching. I think blogs, better for younger kids

Healigan tests new strategies first on herself, then on seniors, then for everyone else. Higher phases: new lessons are stickier faster, lower phases deserve more scaffolding

Learning is (always) only as good as your plan. Any time you use tech, you will need Plan A, Plan B, Plan C for achieving learning, not tech.
